Monte Cristo Sandwich Recipe

Serves 1

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of bread (white or brioche works best)
  • 1 teaspoon mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon prepared mustard 
  • 2 slices cooked ham
  • 2 slices cooked turkey
  • 1 slice Provolone cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • Butter or oil, for the skillet
 

Instructions:

  1. Assemble the Sandwich: Spread the mayonnaise on one slice of bread and the mustard on the other. Layer the ham, turkey, and Provolone cheese between the slices to create your sandwich.
  2. Dip in Egg: Beat the egg in a shallow bowl. Carefully dip the entire sandwich into the egg, coating both sides—just like French toast.
  3. Cook on a Gas Stove: Heat a skillet over medium flame on your gas stove. Add a bit of butter or oil. Once it’s sizzling, gently place the sandwich in the pan.
